The Backup Database command copies the entire contents of the Ascendis Caller ID database to a file you specify.  Use this to make periodic backups, to transfer data to another computer running Ascendis Caller ID, or before trying something you may want to undo later.

Files created with Backup Database can be used with the Restore Database command.

Note that it's possible for a corrupted database to be backed up, rendering the backup useless.  Because of this we recommend repairing the database occasionally.  Ascendis Caller ID doesn't automatically repair before backing up because repairing requires Ascendis Caller ID to restart and usually takes longer than the backup itself.
