Network Options - Advanced (YAC)

Note: The advanced network settings pages allow more control over network settings, making it easier to mess things up!  We recommend using the standard network settings unless you need access to something specific that is not offered there.

Ascendis Caller ID can support both clients and servers using the YAC protocol. The advanced network YAC configuration page is used to configure YAC settings:

Enable YAC Client

Lets Ascendis Caller ID act as a YAC client, receiving caller information from an external YAC server.  YAC clients are also known as "Listeners".

Port

Specifies the network port to be used for communicating with the external YAC server.  Do not change from the default (10629) unless you have similarly changed the external YAC server.

Bind address

Specifies the local IP address on which to listen for YAC messages.  Normally the default ("0.0.0.0", which means to listen on all local IP addresses) is appropriate.  If your computer has multiple local IP addresses and you only want to listen for YAC messages on one of them, select it here.

Enable YAC Server

Lets Ascendis Caller ID act as YAC server, sending caller information to external YAC clients ("Listeners").

Port

Specifies the network port to be used for communicating with the external YAC clients ("Listeners").  Do not change from the default (10629) unless you have similarly changed the external YAC clients.

Client (Listener) addresses

Specifies the IP addresses of all YAC clients ("Listeners") that should receive caller information.  You may enter the IP address of the clients or their names if your computer can resolve the names correctly.  (To test name resolving, using the "PING" command in a DOS box.)
