Caller ID to Incoming Calls

Post by prasannavenkatesh »

hi,
I am using Ascendis Caller ID for Incoming calls to display the number, Date&Time,Caller's Name of Incoming Calls.
I am receiving calls in the screen but No 'Caller Information ' is displaying in the Name Column & nothing in the Number Column.

1.What is the option to setup the Caller ID display for the Incoming Calls?
2.Any setup is there for Modem ?
I am using Agere Systems PCI-SV92PP Model Modem and it is the Data/Voice/Fax Modem.I have already activated the caller ID for the Modem like AT#CID=1.Still i am not getting any information...

RING
NMBR=5 (or 8)

The above message is displaying for incoming calls in the Hyperterminal.
Please suggest me what kind of Modem which will support for Caller ID and what are the steps I need to take?....

Regards,
Prasanna.

Hi prasannavenkatesh,

(I moved this message to the appropriate forum.)

The NMBR values you're seeing in HyperTerminal are strange, as I've never seen any 1-digit phone numbers. It's possible your modem does not work with your phone company, or perhaps your modem's country setting is incorrect. At best, Ascendis Caller ID will only be able to display the numbers reported by HyperTerminal.

The easiest fix is to tell Ascendis Caller ID not to use TAPI for your modem, as TAPI is probably getting confused. To do this:

In Ascendis Caller ID:

1) Open the Options window
2) Click the Devices tab
3) Make sure the "Modems and TAPI" sub-page is showing
4) Select your modem in the list
5) Click the Properties button
6) Remove the checkmark next to "Access through TAPI"
7) Click OK to save the change and close the Properties window
8) Click OK to save the change and close the Options window

Does that fix the problem?
