Version 1.8.1.2 includes the following changes from the last beta release:
- reopen TAPI device if it rings w/o an associated call object
- support modems in serial mode (bypasses TAPI) -- enable by removing check from 'TAPI' column for device in Options window, Devices page
Serial mode avoids TAPI completely, bypassing some problems, but it requires the modem to be available on a COM port (usually COM1-COM8). Some winmodems don't provide COM port access.
