Thanks, Bill. I love your program, and just wanted to make sure everything was working right. I'll stop worrying about it now.

I tried to show what I see happening in this movie. The shell has not been altered?it is running stock Explorer.exe. http://www.filedropper.com/test_2 1) First, CallerID.exe is using 1.8 megs of RAM. 2) Next, I issue a YAC test call, and it pops the caller information full screen. 3) Task Manager re...

Memory Usage Does not Decrease Unless Manually Minimized...?

Hi, Bill! On the thinclient I am using, I've decided to scrap Explorer.exe and use the Opera web browser as my shell. Ascendis is to run in the background, with the YAC Listener picking up incoming calls and displaying them full screen. When minimized to the system tray in Windows while using Explor...

I wound up editing the hosts file on the machines and using staic IP addresses. It works as I wanted it to now, and I am very pleased. I backed up the thinclient once the changes were made, put the lid back on, and cleaned up. Thank you so much for offering support on this software. Have a great Mem...

?confirmed. It is not saving the log where I want. Is there a registry entry I can tweak to direct the log to save where I want it to, instead of "Documents and Settings?" Alternately, would it be possible to download version 2.3.0.0 that does use a .INI file, a version which has been twea...

I went to the directory in "Documents and Settings" and found the WebRoot subdirectory there. I copied it over the one in the second / Version 1 install, and the time and date appear correctly! Both installs exists outside the disk space the Enhanced Write Filter protects (i.e., the Window...

Re: Two NICs, Two Ascendis, One Computer...

Hi CallerDude, Ascendis Caller ID version 2 doesn't support multiple instances running at the same time on one computer. I suspect this is why you're using an older version of ACID for the other instance. Bingo! That is exactly why. On an old VIA C3 thinclient, running a full blown virtual machine ...

Two NICs, Two Ascendis, One Computer...

Hi, all. Hi, Bill. I have an older thinclient machine with two IDE flash chips in it. It has Windows XP on it, with the Enhanced Write Filter installed, so no writes are saved on the flash chip (hard drive) with Ascendis Caller ID installed on it. I have an older version of Ascendis installed on the...

I am going to attempt to implement these changes tonight- I'll let you know how it works out! :-) EDIT: It works! It took me awhile to discover that once you use the INI file to specify settings, you must locate the "Webroot" directory in the same place Ascendis is installed: IF C:\Ascendi...

Bill, I apologize. I did not see the wonderful web server included in the software. Can the default path to "Web root" be altered to a removable USB flash device? I am using a thinclient with Enhanced Write Filter, which blocks saves to disk. Will it still save correctly to a USB flash dri...

UDP and Auto-HTML Export...

Hi, Bill! I have two feature requests this evening: 1) Add UDP as an option for both the server and clients. This way, you don't have to have a client list on the server side. You can add/remove clients at will, without worrying about manually adding them to the server list. 2) Automatically export ...

I forgot to put this in my previous post: Please keep YAC compatibility in future iterations of Ascendis Caller ID. There are those of us out there who use and love it. No matter what sort of [very much appreciated] HTML update wizardry you perform on the line notification, keep YAC. Gratefully, Cal...

Bill, thank you very much! I happen to love YAC, and will continue to use it. Is it possible to use the Ascendis software to serve both YAC-compatible data and its own format? I see the options are there, but I did not know if there would be an incompatibility or conflict. As per the original thread...
