Voice Modem Question

Hi,
In reading the forums I have learned that the Zoom 3049C or CF external voice modem will successfully answer, play bell's intercept messages, and maybe hang up on undesired calls.

Is there an internal modem (perhaps cheaper) available that has been tested to work?

Are you getting any error messages in the Activity log? Also, what flavor of Windows are you using?
Hi Bill,

Don't ask me why or how but it's working now. All I have done is to shut down last night, and boot up today.

Lets hope that it will be ok from now on.

Hi Juan, I have tested Kate's voice by using the "Preview Voice" under Text to Speech in Windows Speech properties and it works ok, so I know I have sound leaving the pc. However, sound is dead when using "play a sample" with Kate or any of the other voices available in the Call...

Hi jucaso, It sounds like your modem is not working properly. I have seen and heard of the behavior you describe with some US Robotics modems. If you want to verify that the modem is the problem, shut down Ascendis Caller ID and access your modem through HyperTerminal. Or, you might be able to see ...
